Sheila Hudson, founder of Bright Ideas, is a free-lance writer and speaker. She has contributed stories to eight of the “Chocolate for Women” series and to the anthologies: The Book of Hope, God Allows U-Turns, Love Stories – Volume I and II, and The Expressive Heart series. Her essays and columns are regularly featured on The Infinite Writer and in SWA's Purple Pros. She has even had an article printed in Korean.
As a correspondent to the Athens Banner Herald for many years, Sheila wrote the monthly “On The Road" and "Sunday Drive” columns. She contributes to The Christian Standard and Lookout Magazines, The Athens Magazine, and The Athens Parent where she provides profiles, features, essays, humorous takes on life, how-to and travel articles. Sheila has won awards for her non-fiction, humor, personal narratives, and children’s picture books. Married to Tim Hudson since 1968, they are the parents of two daughters and grandparents of seven grandsons. They served as campus ministers at the University of Georgia’s Christian Campus Fellowship (CCF) from 1982 to 2010.
Sheila teaches workshops every year on writing, mentoring, grandparenting, servanthood, and mentoring. She retired from The University of Georgia and pursues her writing and speaking full time.
Long time member of the Board of Directors of the Southeastern Writers Association, she will serve as Co-President for the 2011-2013 term.
